A Different Kind of July
This year's July finds me at home rather than away, which means time spent celebrating holidays, birthdays, and a particular anniversary.
Last night we celebrated a good friend's birthday. The celebration began with dinner at a Moroccan restaurant in Alameda. Gorgeous slow-braised lamb shank with moroccan spices, with a ample serving of couscous, and ending with cookies and mint tea. Entertainment was provided by a beautiful belly dancer. Afterwards, we went back to the birthday boy's place, where more drinks and merriment were had. Oh the joy of drinking out of a crystal skull.
The Aussie and I celebrated the 4th of July in a different fashion this year. Yes, there was bbq, popsicles, good people, and fireworks, but what's new for this year is actually getting hit by some fireworks. As long as there were no injuries, it's fine, right?
You see that lady in the black dress and black heels? She walked with such confidence and grace, it's hard not to give props.
The warm Summer weather of the San Francisco Bay Area is perfect to partake in boba tea, and my fave place is Boba Guys in San Francisco.
We were only engaged when the Aussie and I sat in the photobooth for this photostrip years ago. We're celebrating our third wedding anniversary later this month, and looking back at these three years, I feel incredibly humbled and fortunate.
